The AITO M8 is designed with the "Kunpeng" design language, sharing similarities with the M9 but featuring distinct details. The headlights have a new design, integrating chrome trim, daytime running lights, and main beams, while also supporting intelligent interaction functions.
At the rear, the M8 adopts horizontal lines and a popular (through-type) taillight design, complemented by Huawei’s vehicle communication system. A spoiler on the tailgate enhances its sporty appearance. The vehicle’s aerodynamic design achieves a drag coefficient of 0.259.
The M8’s body profile resembles the M9, with semi-hidden door handles. Its dimensions are 5,190 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, 1,795 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 3,105 mm. Compared to the M9, the M8 is 40 mm shorter in length, 5 mm lower in height, and has a wheelbase reduced by 5 mm, while the width remains unchanged.
Both 5-seat and 6-seat variants of the M8 are equipped with 265/45 R21 Pirelli P ZERO Z tires. Exterior color options include four standard shades: Liquid Gold Black, Warm Cloud White, Stellar Blue, and Pastoral Green, along with two optional colors (Galaxy and Dawn Glow) for an additional cost of 8,000 RMB.
The interior features a wraparound cockpit design, consistent with the M9. The front cabin includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch central touchscreen, and a 16-inch passenger entertainment screen. The infotainment system runs on HarmonyOS 4, supporting music playback, movie viewing, voice control, and more.
The M8 is equipped with an AR-HUD (augmented reality head-up display), which displays navigation, multimedia, and vehicle information, and can even show movies while parked. The car also features a 19-speaker HUAWEI SOUND audio system.
The rear of the M8 includes a 32-inch projection screen with a remote control. The new projection system boasts over 2.07 million high-density pixels. Additionally, the second-row projection screen features a hovering function, displaying navigation and lyrics without obstructing the rearview mirror during driving.
The M8 offers rear headrests for both 5-seat and 6-seat models, with a flat floor design in the rear. The 6-seat variant includes third-row features such as electric adjustment, cup holders, and independent air vents.
The 5-seat model provides 40 storage spaces, with a maximum trunk capacity of 1,087 liters and an 110-liter hidden compartment. The vehicle also features a 7.3-liter in-car cooler/warmer supporting temperatures from 0°C to 15°C for cooling and 35°C to 50°C for heating.
The M8’s entire lineup is equipped with Huawei’s advanced smart driving system, featuring 30 perception hardware components, including a top-mounted 192-line laser radar, a high-precision solid-state laser radar, a 3-distributed 4D millimeter-wave radar matrix, two 4D millimeter-wave corner radars, 11 high-definition cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors.
Under the hood, the M8 uses a 1.5T range-extended powertrain. The 1.5T range extender delivers a maximum power of 118 kW, with front and rear drive motors outputting 165 kW and 227 kW, respectively. The Range Max variant features a 37 kWh battery pack with a CLTC pure-electric range of 201 km, while the Range Max+ and Ultra variants come with a 53.4 kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC pure-electric range of 310 km.
The M8 is built on Huawei’s Tuling platform, featuring an enhanced front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension. The entire lineup is equipped with air suspension and EDC continuously variable damping shock absorbers, with adjustable body height in five settings, similar to the M9.
