New XPeng X9 Facelift: Specs, Features, and Updates | Advanced Electric SUV

The new XPeng X9, as a facelifted model, offers four variants, including both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options. The exterior changes are minimal, and it is expected that high-end models will forgo LiDAR in favor of a pure vision-based autonomous driving system. The new XPeng X9 AWD models feature newly designed wheels and black trim on the front bumper.

From the real vehicle images, the new XPeng X9 retains the design language of the current model. The most notable exterior change is that the black trim on both sides of the front bumper is available as an option for AWD models. In the current AWD high-performance Max version, this area is equipped with LiDAR. The facelifted model is anticipated to replace it with a pure vision-based autonomous driving system.

The dimensions of the new XPeng X9 remain unchanged, with a length, width, and height of 5293/1988/1785 mm, and a wheelbase of 3160 mm. The new model will offer two newly designed wheel options, one of which matches the right-hand drive version displayed at the Hong Kong Auto Show. Additionally, the new XPeng X9 will come standard with 235/55 R19 tires, while 235/50 R20 tires are available as an option.

In terms of powertrain, the new XPeng X9 continues to provide both single-motor front-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations. The front-wheel-drive models feature a motor with a maximum output of 235 kW, while the AWD models have a front motor with the same 235 kW output and a rear motor with a maximum output of 135 kW. These power specifications are consistent with the current model.

For the battery, the front-wheel-drive version of the new XPeng X9 continues to offer both lithium iron phosphate and ternary lithium battery options. The AWD version adds a lithium iron phosphate battery option in addition to the current ternary lithium battery. All energy storage components are supplied by CALB. With the adoption of a pure vision-based autonomous driving system, the production cost is expected to decrease, raising the possibility of a price reduction for the new XPeng X9.
