Recently, we captured images of the domestic new-generation BMW X3 at a dealership. According to previous reports, the vehicle is expected to be launched on February 28th of this year.
2025 Domestic New-Generation BMW X3: Features, Specs & Launch Date 1
Based on the latest information, the domestic new-generation BMW X3 will offer five free optional metallic paints, including Mineral White, Carbon Black, Speed Blue, Brooklyn Grey, and Skyscraper Grey. For now, no additional paint options will be available. The new model will provide four different styles of rims in three sizes: 19 inches, 20 inches, and 21 inches.
In terms of dimensions, the domestic new-generation BMW X3 measures 4,865 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,664 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,975 mm. Compared to the overseas standard-axle version, both the body length and wheelbase have been extended by 110 mm. It is worth noting that its wheelbase is consistent with the previously sold imported BMW X5 standard-axle version (measuring 4,930 mm in length, 2,004 mm in width, and 1,776 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,975 mm), which helps optimize and upgrade the rear legroom.
Regarding the interior, the domestic new-generation BMW X3 will be available exclusively with Vernasca leather-covered seats in three colors (all two-tone combinations): Dual-tone Starry Blue, Dual-tone Mocha, and Dual-tone Flame Red. It will also offer only one type of interior trim—personalized fine wood trim with stripe patterns.
The domestic new-generation BMW X3 features the dual-screen layout commonly seen in new BMW models (a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel + a 14.9-inch central touch display), paired with BMW's 9th-generation operating system. It supports QuickSelect, voice control, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone connectivity, and online navigation. The vehicle is also equipped with an interactive ambient light strip similar to that of the new BMW 5 Series, which includes locations such as below the center console screen and the front-row phone charging panel, and features a V-shaped contour on the inner door lining. Additionally, the car offers "Titan Gold" decorative elements.
The domestic new-generation BMW X3 is fitted with a newly designed flat-bottomed multifunction steering wheel, with touch-responsive function buttons at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions. The standard steering wheel has a two-spoke design, while the M Sport steering wheel features a three-spoke design with a centering mark. The old model's electronic "chicken leg" shifter has been replaced with a more compact shift-by-wire lever, and for the first time, crystal interior components are available as an option.
Thanks to the increased body size, the rear seating space of the domestic new-generation BMW X3 has been expanded. The rear seats have been thickened and lengthened, and a central armrest with wireless charging is provided. The vehicle also features a "Starry Sky Panorama Roof," the color of which can change according to different driving themes (My Modes).
In addition to the above, the domestic new-generation BMW X3 will offer 11 optional configurations and one optional package, as follows:
  • Adaptive LED headlights (standard only on the 30L Exclusive model)
  • Blue M Sport brake calipers (not available on the 25L, standard only on the 30L Exclusive model)
  • Harman Kardon premium sound system (standard only on the 30L model)
  • Panoramic Starry Sky Roof (standard only on the 30L Exclusive model)
  • Crystal interior components (standard only on the 30L Exclusive model)
  • Dynamic Welcome Light Carpet (standard only on the 30L model)
  • Electric lumbar support for the driver's seat (standard only on the 30L Exclusive model)
  • Automatic anti-glare function for the driver-side exterior mirror (standard only on the 30L model)
  • Heated steering wheel
  • In-car camera (standard only on the 30L Exclusive model)
  • 5G connectivity capability
In terms of powertrain, the domestic new-generation BMW X3 will be available in two power levels: xDrive25L and xDrive30L, both equipped with a 2.0T four-cylinder engine. The xDrive25L model has a maximum power output of 140 kW, while the xDrive30L model has a maximum power output of 190 kW. The transmission system is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and the xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system. It is important to note that the entry-level model, the X3 xDrive25L Luxury Line, is scheduled to begin production in May of this year, while the other models have already started production in January 2025.
Regarding the chassis, the new model will also be equipped with the 9th-generation lateral dynamics management system and the ARB-X anti-slip stability control system. (The configurations and power parameters mentioned above are based on the preliminary exposure versions, and the final specifications will be subject to the official configuration table at the time of launch.)
