Recently, we obtained battery and range information for the Yangwang U7 PHEV from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The vehicle is equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain composed of a 2.0T engine and a drive motor, along with Yisifang technology, the Yunmian-Z system, rear-wheel steering, a digital chassis, and more.
According to MIIT data, the Yangwang U7 PHEV is powered by a 2.0T plug-in hybrid system that includes four permanent magnet synchronous motors, which is BYD's Yisifang technology. The 2.0T engine, with the code BYD4H20, delivers a maximum power of 200 kW. The two front-wheel motors each have a maximum power output of 260 kW, while the two rear-wheel drive motors each have a maximum power of 240 kW.
The vehicle is equipped with a 52.3987 kWh lithium iron phosphate blade battery, with a pure electric range of 180 km according to MIIT’s testing cycle. The fuel consumption in a depleted state is 8.7 kWh per 100 km (or under the WLTC cycle). Based on the battery capacity and range data, the Yangwang U7 PHEV outperforms the Yangwang U8 in both battery capacity (49.05 kWh) and pure electric range (120-124 km).
In terms of appearance, the Yangwang U7 PHEV largely mirrors the pure electric version, but the front compartment includes an engine, which results in the integration of an air intake into the "C" shaped headlights. The front bumper air intake features a mesh design and is positioned higher than the pure electric version, giving the front end a slightly more elevated look.
The Yangwang U7 PHEV also features a fastback design, but the exact dimensions have not been disclosed. For reference, the pure electric version of the Yangwang U7 measures 5265/1998/1517 mm with a 3160 mm wheelbase, and the plug-in hybrid version is expected to have slight variations in height.
The rear of the Yangwang U7 PHEV features a continuous light strip, a standard electric tailgate spoiler, and a hidden dual exhaust layout. The model shown is equipped with 21-inch closed rims, paired with Continental EC7 series tires, sized 275/40 R21. Additionally, the vehicle comes with 380 mm carbon-ceramic brake discs.
The interior of the showcased Yangwang U7 PHEV features a cloud brocade red color scheme combined with genuine wood trim. The car is fitted with a 12.8-inch OLED curved screen, powered by a new-generation DiLink smart connectivity system with a 4-nanometer cockpit chip, and supports a full-scenario voice assistant. The 23.6-inch full digital display and co-driver entertainment screen extend across the rear of the central control screen, with touch control buttons located on the outside of the screen.
Furthermore, the showcased Yangwang U7 PHEV features a five-seat configuration, with Nappa leather upholstery. The front and rear seats are integrated, offering up to 22-way adjustment in the front, along with ventilation, heating, and massage functions; the rear seats offer up to 18-way adjustment.
The five-seat version includes a dual-opening door refrigerated car fridge within the central armrest, with a capacity of 6.1 liters. It supports both cooling (from -6°C to 15°C) and heating (from 35°C to 50°C). The rear seats are equipped with an 8.88-inch control screen, and there is also a display under the rear air vents showing the time, fridge temperature, and air conditioning settings.
